Memories of a Hedgehog
Clavo, memoria de erizo

Performance, Film and Installation

Nail:
a slender, typically rodshaped rigid piece of metal, usu- ally in any of numerous standard lengths from a fraction of an inch to several inches and having one end pointed and the other enlarged and flattened, for hammering into or through wood, other building materials, etc., as used in building, in fastening, or in holding separate pieces together.

To accomplish perfectly: to hit the nail on the head, to say or do exactly the right thing; be accurate or correct: Your analysis really hit the nail on the head.

́Memories of a hedgehog ́ is a multilayered art project including a performance, art video, objects, photographs.

The performance combines visual arts and contemorary dance. The subject of the piece is ́faith ́seen in a more general way, a good expression would probably be ́blind confidence ́. We expose this idea trough visual objects and contemporary dance using nails, balloons, ́dust ́, ́carnation petals and a large wooden table.

A nail is useful and can be harmful, it always depends on how we use it.
Another particularity is that in Spanish the word for nail and clove is the same. In this piece we use clove as a symbol of numbness and numbing pain and the do- uble lecture of a nail as a piece of construction but also a wapon.

The performance was presented at several festivals:
Fira Tárrega 2010 (Lleida, Spain), ́Corpus Media ́ in Toulouse(France) ́Palma amb la dansa ́at the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation, the art fair ́Jamart ́ , ́Ping4 ́(Majorca, Spain).
The video won the ́Rei en Jaume 2008 Art Award ́ (Majorca, Spain) and partici- pated in several video and dance video festivals: ́Dança sem sombra ́Lisbon (Portugal), the video festival ́Óptica ́ (La Paz, Buenos Aires, Paris, Huarte, Madrid).
